In part two of this Modding Music series, I’ll be sharing two of my most listened to albums of the past 6 months, both of which contain great music and lyrics to “nerd out” by.
The first album is Beck’s, The Information.
I bought this album without really previewing any of the songs. I felt comfortable doing this because I have been a long time Beck fan, and I’m well aware that the styles used in his music can vary widely; but with each album, I always seem to find a favorite.
The second album is by a Canadian rapper named More or Les, and it’s called The Truth About Rap.
WTF? Did you say Canadian rapper? You heard right, and what caught my attention was the name of the album; The TRUTH About Rap.
I’ve long been a fan of Rap and Hip-Hop. If you’re not a fan of this type of music, please give this a chance. If your idea of Rap is what you hear on commercial radio, please know that what you hear on the radio is NOT my idea of true Rap. More or Less really does bring the spirit of Rap back to it’s roots on this album. Each song tells a story, and has a beginning, middle, and end. He is clever with his usage of words and weaves through the beats nicely, creating a medley for each song.
Check out previews of the songs on each of these albums below…

I love the Beck video. I have listened to a lot of Beck this year too. Great music!!
its amazing how many people are commenting who dont even know who beck is, like the mutual fund guy? thats blatant spam
Even if you dont like beck, he is one of those artists who can captivate an audience becuse of his unique sound and creativity. Its like a creative radio commercial that – even if you have no interest in the product, you keep listening because of the creative content.

Nice plug Tony…I agree with your thoughts on Beck, but relating that to radio commercials…c’mon;)
p.s. I’m leaving your comment because you have a nice site and provide a legit service…good luck!
@ musical genius,
Yeah, good call on that, but at least he took the time to at least know that Beck is a musician;)
I like your blog by the way, you may be interested in checking out http://indielab.org – free blogs for media creators…
Thanks, I like the indielab site! I’m going to investigate that further when I get some time! I just heard a good interview with beck on npr. I think it was on fresh air if anyone wants to look it up.
More or Less isn’t bad, thanks for the tip. He sounds a bit like Atmosphere.
@Haythem,
Agreed, he does now that you mention it.
p.s. You should change the content of your “About” page, it still has the standard text on it.
beck is awsome. thanks
