WordPress Affiliate Store Plugin

I don’t consider myself an affiliate marketer, I only dabble here and there, and I try to only use affiliate codes to add product links that are of value to my readers. With that said, I’ve learned of a very promising WordPress Affiliate Store Plugin that might be useful to those of you who are either budding, or professional online marketers.

The plugin is called Affiliate Store WordPress Plugin and is brought to you by Volodymyr Danylyuk of LordTime, News Alloy, and Internet Vibes.

So, what is this thing and what makes it so interesting? From the plugin page:

This plugin will allow You to run an Affiliate eCommerce Store filled in with thousands of affiliate partner products in a several minutes. Its No matter whats is your blog about, You may always find a list of products and import to your blog. This will increase its value (additional associated products) and bring you additional revenue from the commissions paid by affiliate partners. Install Plugin, enter Your Partner affiliate program credentials and import desirable products. Run store filled in with thousands of products attached to your Wordpress blog in a minutes.

I have downloaded and installed this plugin on one of my development installs, and I have to say, I’m impressed with the ease of use and how Volodymyr has packed in so many features into a well laid out administration area. If you’d like to see for yourself, you can sign up for a login to the demo of this plugin on his site:

Plugin Demo

Click here to obtain access to demo Register and log in. When registered go to ExtProd top menu and check plugin features – all changes are reflected immediately on the main demo blog page.

There are a couple of important things to know about this plugin.

  1. In order to run the plugin you must have Ioncube Loader installed (available on the most of the hosting companies).
  2. Currently it supports 3 affiliate programs and adding more and more. Following programs are supported as of now:
  3. Comission Junction
  4. MarketHealth
  5. NetShops Affiliates

This last point is kind of a stickler for me as I prefer to use the Amazon Affiliate program exclusively. However, I have been in contact with Volodymyr and he has promised support for Amazon Associates as well as many other affiliate programs.

This plugin does have a price tag of $59.00 USD, but I think that’s a small price to pay, especially if you’re planning on using this on multiple niche blogs.

Download the Affiliate WordPress plugin here.

That’s great that it supports CJ! I’ve never found a WP plugin that supports it, making things confusing with creating jump files and managing the list of outgoing links. Thanks for this suggestion.

Great post. I hadn’t heard of this plugin before today.

I do have one question for you. I have also recently found the popshops plugin which sounds very similar to this WP plug in. It allows you to create a ministore in your blog using affiliate products from a large list of companies with affiliate programs.

If you have heard of Popshops, do you think this one is better? If not you should check it out. I’ll be doing a comparison of the two myself.

Thanks again for a good read! :o )

Great news about this plugin. I have spent innumerable hours playing with custom php scripts to download and parse datafiles from CJ. Invariably those creating those datafiles have mistakes in them, so our parser had to accomodate all manner of crap.

Happy to see that someone else has done this. Lordtime expect to see a payment from me soon.

Am I to understand that clickbank is already available ?

Lovely looking plug in. I like the concept. You mentioned something very important – to only promote affiliate products that add value to your readers. Too many people just push garbage.

I’ve found it better to go one step forward and only offer people products that I’ve purchased or have had access to. That way I’m sure they’re getting quality.

Great picture at the top of this site:)

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. You’re right, there is a lot of garbage out there being pushed. Sometimes it’s difficult to walk the line between promoting an affiliate product because you truly deem it useful to your reader, or just promoting it to try and make a quick buck. In the end, I’ve found that honesty in marketing is always more profitable. It’s a matter of trust between you and your readers. They’re trusting you to recommend products that you believe will be useful, or as you said, you know to be useful from personal experience.

  43. Posted January 22, 2009 at 1:47 am | Permalink

    WordPress Moder,

Really hard to read your message above. The background is white and the text is a light gray.

I’ve squinted to get close enough and have read your comment. Right on. It’s really all about building a relationship with your customers or in this case your readers (who may also be customers).

The problem with internet marketing is that so many people are trying to make a quick buck. They think just because it’s ‘online’ they’re going to make the moolah tomorrow. The ‘guru’s feed off of that, offer their products or consulting services … and the cycle continues.

Anyone that has spent time and their own hard earned money in the trenches of online (or even offline businesses) will know that there really is not such thing as a quick buck – unless you win the lottery.

Real profits come from long term relationships with a loyal following. And the only way to make that happen is to be in it for the long term. Trust is central to success.
