Two days ago I visited a website and was presented with the standard WordPress database connection error page similar to this one.
As an avid WordPress user, that is definitely something I don’t want my visitors to see when I lose my database connection. Karma must be at work, because tonight I was checking my email and received the latest post from Joost de Valk’s SEO BLOG and the subject was exactly this.
Joost provides some great information on how to modify the database error page to display want you want your visitors to see, and goes even further with extending the functionality of this page modification so the site owner receives an email to let them know something has gone awry. You can learn more by visiting Joost’s site here.

Hi! I found this information very useful. Even I don’t have any problem (yet) with my blog. Is nice to have something to see if there exist something wrong. Good job. Keep it up
